2013 Junior Men National Champion
Congratulations Anthony!  You make YRSA very proud!

Anthony was able to translate his success between levels, winning the gold medal at last year’s Novice Men and at this year’s Junior Men Canadian Nationals.   In Mississauga, he skated two excellent programs to ultimately win the junior title with 167.54 points.

Anthony Kan is quite familiar with being near the top of the field.  He won silver medal at 2013 Challenge in Regina and he was 2012 Canadian novice national champion.  His short program to Memorial was dramatic and intense, and a solid opening triple Lutz-triple toe loop combination vaulted him into the lead.  His great performance earned him 60.67 points.

Anthony’s emotional free skate to Gethsemane earned him 106.87 points and gave him a lead over a fellow Central Ontario teammate, Dennis Margalik, who finished second with a total of 164.60 points.  Mathieu Nepton of Quebec finished third overall with a score of 149.90.
